Upper Paleolithic: the big hunters

Sala III (Antiga)
The Upper Paleolithic period coincides with the arrival in Europe of the Homo sapiens sapiens. The period begins about 35,000 years ago and it is characterized by progress in hunting techniques and the improvement of bone and stone-tool industries. The development of these tools leads to different cultures, as shown in Cova del Parpalló (Gandia), Cova de les Malladetes (Barx), Cova de les Cendres (Moraira-Teulada), Cova del Volcá del Far (Cullera) and Ratlla del Bubo (Crevillent).
